Tri-County Emergency Home Repair Program:
The Community Action Commission of Erie, Huron & Richland Counties, Inc. (CACEHR) will provide a one-time only grant for emergency home repairs or handicap modifications. Grant funding for each program year is limited and can be used once every five years for low- and moderate-income, single family home owners. Emergency repairs are defined as "any physical improvement, adaption, or modification not of a cosmetic nature, and is required to remove eminent health and safety hazards." Other allowable repairs include those required to facilitate those physical impairments and/or disabilities to remain in their own homes.
To be eligible for assistance applicants must meet the following requirements including at or below 50% of the area median income for their county of residence, must be listed as the homeowner on the deed, must provide proof of current homeowner's insurance, and must provide proof that property taxes are current (not delinquent).
